IGEDE EKITI DESERVES AN EXECUTIVE POLITICAL POSITION
Igede-Ekiti is a distinct social and cultural entity that share a common ancestral tie with the Ekiti sociopolitical project from the advent of democracy
Igede-Ekiti has always been inextricably linked to the state and national politics in very many dispensations contributing immensely to the successes achieved so far.
The community had in the past conceptualized varied ideologies from the plurality of the national political departmentalization that resulted to the multi party system .
This spectrum of disjointed ideologies is undesirable in the face of the quantum of challenges that emanated from the mismanagement of the different ideologies by the actors. Undesirable tones like political discrimination, acrimonious politics and hatred that sprung up eroded and fragmented the unity of the ancient community and this robbed the community of the required development and the robust representation that Igede-Ekiti deserves.
The plural political mindset that existed within the community had undergone critical realignment to evolve a new paradigm composed of visionary socioeconomic and political indices proactively devised through the concerted efforts of a number of versatile professional youths and senior citizens who believe the community should be extricated from the confines of the old order schools of thoughts.
According to one of the great philosophers and diplomats of the renaissance period, Nicolas Machiavelli who posited that for any meaningful positive change to happen, some state actors who benefited from the old order will vigorously try to prevent the evolution of the positive new order. He also elucidated that never was anything great achievable without danger and also that whosoever desire constant success must change his conduct with the times.
The previously perceived disparity within the sociopolitical echelon of the community has been unified through equitable ideological restructuring, reconstruction, collaborations and fairness to all stakeholders.
The present political structure and composition of Igede-Ekiti with brilliant political ideologies are embedded in the “Classical Normativity”.
Having given the needed support to the ruling All Progressives Congress and His Excellency Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in the recently concluded series of elections, it is our expectation that qualified Igede indigenes should be appointed into the executive cabinet positions.
For inclusiveness, fairness and justice which are the critical ingredients of unity, it is high time an astute expert, professional and political disciple in philosophy, human capital and community development youthful, tested and vivacious was presented to champion the pragmatic aspirations of our heritage.
Igede indigenes home and in diaspora under the aegis of “Pragmatic and Excellent Achievers Group “ solicit His Excellency ‘s benevolence to appoint a qualified Igede Ekiti indigene who is widely read, exposed to the tenets of political logics, a highly adored, respected and also well schooled in the rudiments of loyalty, honesty, Godliness and humility as commissioner in this dispensation.
This is sequel to the principle of equitable representation of qualified communities in the power algorithm. Communities that have not in the past been represented can be considered to promote the culture of participation and inclusiveness as a patronage to accommodate their collective aspirations.
The realignment that was orchestrated through high-level collaborations was eventfully prolific in the comparative support the community provided in concrete terms of substantial votes for the ruling All Progressives Congress during the recently concluded elections.
Hardly in the history of Ekiti State democratic adventure has an indigene of Igede-Ekiti been appointed as an executive cabinet commissioner. The community has consulted widely to produce a common front. The frequency and velocity of our consultations that led to the realignment were prominently targeted to put Igede-Ekiti as part of the dependable variables in the political permutations in Ekiti State and Nigeria.
It is imperative therefore , to magnify the facts that Igede-Ekiti have illustrious professionals in diverse fields who can be pivotal to the Ekiti Project. Igede-Ekiti youths are hard working achievers and accomplishers who can contribute tremendously to the socioeconomic and political rejuvenation and development of Ekiti State.
